Almost Famous

I was quoted on CNN.com today in an article about the 25th anniversary of the first Macintosh computer.

For graphic designers like Zoë Korstvedt, now a Los Angeles creative director, the evolving Mac, with each added feature, was ripe with ah-ha moments.

To tinker with a piece, play with the text, "to visualize on your computer was just insane," she said. "My colleagues and I wonder how we did it [their jobs] before."

No wonder, then, that when Korstvedt, 44, married her first husband in 1989, she used half of their wedding money to buy her first home computer: a Mac SE/30, for which she forked over extra bucks for an upgrade to a whopping 8 megabytes of RAM. Nothing compared to the 12 gigs she now has. "I was styling," she said with a laugh.

IT WILL BE FINE

Today, I was IMing with my friend, Alex (Relevant History), as I often do. He was trying to comfort me, as he often does. I was coming unglued anticipating what tomorrow will bring. And he chatted this pic.

As the conversation went on, he began to contribute with pics, creating what I now call "Illustrated iChat". Love that!

I heard today that Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman are back together. It's a good thing for her because if she wasn't recently respoken for I might hunt her down and plant a big one right on the lips. Like her or hate her, you must admit she has balls — and apparently they're made of matzoh. Check out her new video coming soon to an emailbox near you.

I am fascinated by the ongoing spits of information I now receive throughout the day regarding my friends' lives either through Facebook status updates or direct tweets. Most reflect comings and goings, some are curious musings, and every once in a while there is a really significant thought that hangs in the air like a perfect wisp of genius. Apparently Tim O'Reilly is similarly fascinated.

As I immerse myself in the world of social networking and nearly constant connectivity, The New York Times publishes this interesting and oh so relevant article. See, I just thought I was having fun.
