One of Oliver's favorite toys is a gallon-size freezer Ziploc bag filled with plastic spoons. He discovered it in the cupboard several weeks ago. It was one of those instances when I was faced with a parenting dilemma: Preserve order in the house or welcome an opportunity for discovery? A quick calculation of the cost of 100 spoons brought an easy answer. As I said about birds and baubles, sometimes its the unexpected things which bring the most joy.
